Overview

The College of Engineering supports students in the pursuit of discovering new ways to tackle the problems of the world today. Through internship and co-op opportunities students will be involved in real projects and gain experience in the workforce before graduation. 

All VCU Engineering students complete a capstone project with a local or global company their senior year. Prior partners include; Hamilton Beach, Afton Chemical, Capital One, Pfizer, Cannon Virginia Inc., Worldview Solutions, CoStar, Anheuser-Busch and many more.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3.5

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Undergraduate direct entry and Global Student Success Program entry requirements vary depending on the academic and English language qualification results achieved.
  • All applications are reviewed individually against the entry criteria for each program listed. All applications are subject to final University departmental review and approval.
  • VCU admissions reserves the right to request additional documentation if necessary for review. Students are required to submit all official transcripts from postsecondary institutions attended beyond high school whether they are seeking credit transfer or not.
