After Graduation

Upon successful completion of an INTO George Mason University Graduate Pathway in Sport and Recreation Studies and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next semester of graduate study at George Mason University. This transition from an INTO Mason Pathway program to a university degree program is called 'progression'.

Bridge Program: Students with select three-year undergraduate degrees can begin earning credits toward a master's degree while completing core undergraduate requirements.

      English Language Requirements

      Academic Requirements

      You need the following GPA score:

      Required score: 2.75

      Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

      Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

      General Requirements

      • English language requirements: TOEFL iBT 75 (17+ subscores in reading and listening), IELTS 6.5 (6.0+ subscores in reading and listening), PTEA 52, Password 7.0 Knowledge and 6.0 Writing, Completion of AE Core and OCS level 5, IELA 176 (169 subscores reading and listening), or Duolingo 55 (IELA required upon arrival).

      • Academic requirements: Four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent. 2.75 undergraduate GPA equivalent.
