Higher Education and the Work Environment
This introductory module builds the key knowledge, skills and understanding for the course, covering: learning about work (further developing your knowledge and understanding of your workplace), learning through work (examining the acquisition of practical skills in the workplace) and learning for work (your knowledge and skills are developed in a way that is directly relevant to the workplace).
Context of Social Housing Provision
This module looks at the ever-changing context of social housing provision in the UK, focusing on national and local policy making processes and the legal and regulatory framework. It also examines the strategic relationships between the various agencies involved in regulating and delivering social housing provision and explores how all these factors impact upon on operational practice.
Customer Service Management
Key issues in the management and delivery of excellent customer service, including the rights and obligations of all stakeholders, conflict resolution and dealing with anti-social behavior.
Work Based Project 1
This module introduces students to the concept of research, specifically Action Research. Action Research is primarily concerned with how we introduce change within the workplace; change that will benefit service users and staff. A variety of staged activities, and the assignment itself, will take you through the necessary steps so that you can develop a real plan for change for your organisation.
