Housing online is a free service to assist ANU students and staff to find rental accommodation.Search or advertiseYou can search or advertise properties which fall in to the following categories:

  • Properties for rent – a whole house, apartment or townhouse for rent.
  • Share accommodation – a room/s available in an already established share or group house.
  • Private board accommodation – live with a Canberra family (includes meals).
  • House sitting – live in someone else's home while they are away (you are expected to care for any pets, keep the home clean and tidy, and maintain the garden).

The Chifley, Hancock and Law Library branches offer a range of group study rooms for ANU students and staff to book. There are a variety of room sizes available, and each offers a variety of AV equipment.

Sports facilities

The objectives of the ANU Sport are to promote and provide a diverse and exciting range of professionally-provided, affordable sporting and physical recreation participation opportunities for all of our members. To enhance your university experience by offering health, fitness and leisure activities to make your time at the ANU a whole lot more energetic, invigorating and enjoyable. Essential to this purpose, we encourage and assist in the formation among members of sporting and physical recreation clubs, and to support and co-ordinate the activities of clubs, so they can provide exceptional experiences for their members, both on and off the competition arena!

Student clubs

ANU Students’ Association is a student-run organisation at ANU, with three aims: wins for students, a vibrant campus life and a fair go for all.They run and organise social events, employ 3 Student Assistance Officers, and advocate for students’ interests to the university and governments. We also run the Brian Kenyon Student Space in Union Court, as well as a bunch of other services that will help you during your time at uni.


ANU is a founding member of the International Alliance of Research Universities, and is also a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities.
