Kodolányi János University of Applied Sciences (KJU) has been operating since 1992. In the beginning there were only 147 students sitting behind the desks on a single campus; today we educate more than 4,000 students in the areas of business administration, communication, tourism, linguistics, humanities, applied social studies, international relations, performance arts, and continuing education.
Kodolanyi Janos University of Applied Sciences (KJU) is a state accredited foundation university offering, academic programs in the fields of tourism & hospitality, business management, mass media & communication, social sciences, history, cultural and language studies.
KJU supports a very active programme of basic and applied research by both faculty and students in its 10 R&D centres. Thanks to its network of partnerships with other research centres, organisations and stakeholders, students can develop their professional research skills and competencies that will enable them to compete successfully in the national as well as international labour market.
The largest campus provides study facilities for thousands of students, who can opt for a wide choice of accommodations: from private lodgings to youth hostels.
Currently, the library contains 60,000 books and 10,000 periodicals, several audio- / videocassettes and CD-ROMs. The traditional library functions are combined with the modern digital library services of the 21st century.
At the university, physical education is part of the first year curriculum. Our sports fields and gyms are at the students' disposal 24 hours a day. KJU has tennis courts and sports halls, and ensures swimming pool facilities as well. Games such as football, voleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, floorball as well as individual sports are alike popular with both students and staff.
The student artistic groups at Kodolányi János University of Applied Sciences are very active. There are folkdance and classical dance groups, a choir, a theatrical workshop, a visual art workshop and a number of pop, rock and jazz bands. The several club activities are open to the public, too.
