Housing services

  • We offer a range of accommodation options to suit students’ preferences. From hall style living to residential style family homes. Students can live in shared flats within traditional Halls of Residences. There are usually four to six students per flat each with their own room (with ensuite options in some halls). 
  • International students are guaranteed a room in a BU-managed accommodation if they apply before the mid-December (for January entry) or mid-august for September entry.

Library services

Our libraries - The Sir Michael Cobham Library and Bournemouth House Library - on both campuses give students access to electronic, print and multimedia resources with staff on hand for support. As well as computers and Wi-Fi for laptops and mobile devices, the libraries are equipped with technobooth learning spaces to make group work easier, more involved, and much more interactive.

Student Life

Campus life

  • Bournemouth University is spread across two campuses – Lansdowne campus and Talbot campus - both located in Bournemouth
  • The campuses are home to several buildings and facilities including inspirational learning spaces, lecture theatres, research spaces, library facilities, TV studios, PC labs, sports facilities, 24/7 accessible computers as well as restaurants and cafes. 
  • Lansdowne campus is a short walk to the beach and town centre with many shops, cafes restaurants in the surrounding area. Talbot campus is the larger of the two campuses and located just a little way outside the town centre.

We have sports and recreation facilities for everyone, whether you are a keen athlete or looking to start a new sport. 

Our sports facilities include:

  • Fitness suite - with up to 60 stations and various membership options
  • Four-court sports hall with badminton, basketball and volleyball courts
  • Two all-weather floodlit 3G artificial sports pitches
  • Two natural-turf football pitches
  • Two dance and activity studios – over 50 Group Fitness classes a week
