Breda University of Applied Sciences (in former days NHTV Breda) was founded in 1966 as an institute offering bachelor’s programmes in tourism and leisure and in this field, it is the largest and leading education institution in the world. New professional and academic bachelor’s and master’s programmes have been developed since then.
Breda University of Applied Sciences prepares students for management-level positions in an international setting. International accreditations from, for instance, the UN World Tourism Organization and the World Leisure Organization underline the quality of education. Breda University of Applied Sciences works together with many leading education institutions all over the world. As a result, there are many opportunities for intensive student and lecturer exchanges.
Breda University of Applied Sciences does not offer on-campus housing facilities. However, Student Office assists international students in finding suitable accommodation. The rent
of a student room ranges from € 350 to € 450 per person per month.
All departments of Breda University of Applied Sciences can be found on our new campus at the Mgr. Hopmansstraat in Breda, The Netherlands. The campus consists of three building including a former convent. The buildings are situated in a green, park like,
environment at the edge of the city centre. The city itself is fun, safe and internationally oriented.
There are several sport and recreation facilities for students and staff. You can make theatre. Or make music in the Music Room! You can also join a student association. They organise parties, sporting events, field trips and other events. Joining in is a lot of fun.
Quality mark for degree programmes in Keuzegids Hbo 2019
Breda University of Applied Sciences achieved high scores in Keuzegids Hbo 2019. No fewer than three degree programmes - International Facility Management, Hotel Management and Creative Media and Game Technologies - were awarded a Keuzegids quality mark. This means that these degree programmes have received the designation ‘Top-rated programme’ and are among the best in the Netherlands in their respective categories.
Keuzegids Hbo 2019 is the most important independent league table which assesses and compares the quality of higher education programmes in the Netherlands, thus helping students to make informed choices about where to study. Degree programmes are ranked on the basis of various criteria, such as academic success, curriculum content, the quality of lecturers and educational facilities, and preparation for a career in the field in which students wish to graduate.
