This is a place to share your love of learning – about the world, about other lives, and about yourself. As Yale historian George Pierson observed, "Yale is at once a tradition, a company of scholars, and a society of friends. The Yale campus is rich in art, architectural, and athletic resources. Yale is situated in the heart of New Haven, which is about two hours from both New York, to the west, and Boston, to the north.
ELI follows Yale’s collaborative model, which teaches students how to think critically and creatively, and helps each student develop specific skills and broad knowledge of American culture. Students participate in class, contributing to a dynamic atmosphere.
English preparation programmes
They foster a sense of community and serve as a focal point for both informal and planned activities.
Each has a Summer Master who supervises the Yale students who serve as residential counselors. Together they are responsible for the well-being of the summer residents. In summer Yale forms its own community, supported by a dedicated staff who help students adjust quickly and make the most of their time here.
