Everyone is welcome at Torquay International School – our aim is to ensure that everyone who joins a TIS course gets the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their stay with us. The school is proud to say that many students and business clients have returned to the school time after time and have recommended us to their family, friends and colleagues. TIS is now welcoming students from the third generation of some families.

About Location

Located in the South West of England, TIS offers an unrivalled study environment by the sea, with easy access to Dartmoor National Park and the beautiful Devon countryside, away from the rush and pressure of London and some of the more established centres.

Torquay has more attractions than any other seaside town in the UK, numerous exciting events throughout the year and plenty of opportunities for sports, particularly water sports.

Social Programme

Learning English is all about communicating with people – and people learn better when they are happy and relaxed. Our Social Programme offers something new every week and you can participate as much or as little as you please.

The programme is organised on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ and ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.

Torquay has many options to continue practising your favourite hobbies. Many of our students participate in fishing, golf, running, cycling, sailing, football, diving, tennis, volleyball.

If you want to pursue a particular hobby or join a local gym/swimming pool please ask Martin, our Operations Manager, or at reception. We would be more than happy to help!
