Everyone is welcome at Torquay International School – our aim is to ensure that everyone who joins a TIS course gets the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their stay with us.

About Location

Located in the South West of England, TIS offers an unrivalled study environment by the sea, with easy access to Dartmoor National Park and the beautiful Devon countryside, away from the rush and pressure of London and some of the more established centres.

We offer a flexible General English course with a choice of hours per week, Courses for the Over 30s and Over 50s and a range of Business and Professional English courses.

Social Programme

Torquay is a lively and vibrant coastal town, situated in one of the most beautiful parts of England and in the centre of a UNESCO Global Geopark

Learning English is all about communicating with people – and people learn better when they are happy and relaxed. Our Social Programme offers something new every week and you can participate as much or as little as you please.


Activity prices vary each week, however, afternoon/evening activities normally cost between £5 – £10, whereas, full day excursions at the weekend will cost between £20 – £35. Some activities such us guided walks, film club, volley-ball and football tournaments are free of charge.
