Atlas Language School was founded in 2003. Although Atlas started with only one classroom and one student the school expanded quickly to become one of the fastest growing language schools in Ireland. For more information check the school website.

Description

Atlas welcomes students on a wide range of courses including General English, Exam Preparation, Junior Programme, and Teacher Training courses. Atlas believes the success to date is due to the commitment to quality and Atlas is dedicated to providing a professional, friendly and supportive learning environment.

With excellent teachers and facilities, a comprehensive and fun social programme and a perfect central location, Atlas believes that they are the best school to learn English in Dublin.

About Location

Today Atlas is located in Portobello House, a beautiful landmark building in the heart of Dublin. The new school is a state-of-the-art facility with 25 classrooms, a student cafe/restaurant, library, meditation room, computer lab, and large student recreational area.

Teaching Method

The teaching is based on a communicative and task-based approach, which means students always focus on effective real-life communication and ways of practising and achieving it. In class students work on developing their productive and receptive skills while also increasing their accuracy and fluency.

Atlas Language School has developed a Language Learning Pathway to provide all learners with a clear description of the objectives for each of the levels. Whether students are with us for 2 weeks, 8 weeks or a year Atlas will help them design a clear learning strategy based on their individual goals.

Social Programme

Atlas believes that in order to get the most from their time in Ireland students should be exposed to English not just in the classroom but in a variety of environments and contexts. That’s why the social and cultural programme is so important to us and why we spend so much time and energy making sure that it is as varied, vibrant and interesting as possible.

Activities

Atlas has a dedicated social programme co-ordinator who organises activities, tours and visits throughout the year for students. These activities are a scheduled part of almost all courses and normally occur after class in the afternoon and evening.

Excursions

Atlas also organises day and weekend trips to scenic areas outside Dublin, such as Connemara, Clare and Galway.
